Natasha's
jewelry
is an exploration
of themes
from Asian
art and
traditional
jewelry.
She is enamored
with the
craftsmanship
and meaning
behind jewelry
and strives
to bring
these qualities
to her work.
She has
traveled
from the
plains of
India to
the hinterlands
of Mongolia
gaining
inspiration
and understanding
along the
way. As
a Fulbright
scholar,
she was
fortunate
enough to
be a guest
artist in
the neighborhood
of the Kathmandu
Valley that
has created
magnificent
Buddhist
treasures
for centuries.
The jewelry
is meant
to be worn
and enjoyed.
Look for
the expressive
curve of
the jasmine
bud and
the arched
window that
evokes architecture
along the
silk road.
There is
also the
flourish
pattern
that is
universally
appealing,
but is actually
derived
from Tibetan
furniture
decorations,
and the
leaf from
the sacred
bodhi tree
of India.
The pieces
are unique
and designed
to be timeless
with beautiful
stones and
great attention
to craft.
